Step into Napoli Pizza for the first time and the aroma of garlic, cheese and spices seems to attack your taste
buds, begging you to bite into what has become known to its customers as the best pizza in the city.  
Napoli claims to be a neighborhood pizzeria, yet one woman from Colorado says she counts it as her favorite
place in the world. “What will I do when it snows in Colorado this winter, and I can’t get to St. Peters for a
Napoli Pizza?” she asks. “Your pizza is the best. Oh, and those crispy, cheesy things. What are they called?
They’re out of this world.”
The woman’s talking about crispy parmesan twists, a delicacy made with homemade dough and dusted with
freshly grated parmesan.  “My husband will order a large pizza and eat it completely before we reach the door
of our hotel,” the woman says. “For me it’s those crispy, cheesy twists and pasta. Oh, I love their pasta. Every
time we come to the area we have to make a stop at Napoli.” Her testimonial blots out Napoli Pizza’s claim to
fame. If they are a neighborhood pizzeria, then their Zip Code spans far from the St. Peters borders.
“As you can see, we’re not glamorous, but we hope you‘ll enjoy our version of Italian ‘home cookin’,’” says
owner Scott Chervitz. “You’ll also see we operate with a small crew, so we apologize if your order takes a
while during our busy period.”
Napoli is a personal kind of place with Chervitz as the man behind the ovens and his parents, Karen and Jerry,
doing everything from stirring the pasta to making sure the Alfredo sauce has just the right amount of cream.
From your first bite, you’ll taste the difference between Napoli hand-made, fresh, never frozen crust and those
from the typical pizza chains. Only the best ingredients are used, including Grande whole milk mozzarella
cheese, pizza sauce that makes others pale in comparison and Italian sausage shipped in from Chicago.
Their pizza comes in four sizes, 10-, 12-, 14- and a whopping 24-inch pie. Crusts come thick, hand-tossed and
a St. Louis-style that’s thin and crispy. Prices are (one topping) $7.50, $10, $12 and $29.99. With more than
40 pizza toppings and 20 specialty pizzas, it’s hard to avoid finding a new personal favorite.
In addition to the traditional pizza sauce, sweet pasta sauce can also be ordered on pizzas, Chervitz said. You
name it and it’s fresh at Napoli Pizzeria — pizza, pasta, sandwiches, soups and desserts, many that use Karen
Chervitz old family recipes. “Just about everything is made fresh daily,” Chervitz said. "Dad makes the
meatballs, mom makes the salad dressing and minestrone, and she makes really great desserts.”
Order a “Napoli Special” sandwich ($6) and you’ll get ham, mozzarella or provel and St. Louis’ own Volpi
Salami. Order one of their high quality salads with Karen’s House Dressing, and you’ll know from first bite that
you’ve found a new delicacy. “We’re proud of mom’s House dressing, pasta and Alf redo sauce, chicken
parmesan and minestrone soup,” Chervitz says. And for good reason.
“We get to know our customers, and sometimes we know what they’ll order as soon as we see them get out of
their cars,” Chervitz said. “We have a good relationship with them, and most say we’re the best in town.”
